What does an online CBSE tutor help with?
A CBSE tutor works through the NCERT chapters you find hardest and the question types that carry the most marks in the board paper. In Class 10 that usually means algebra, trigonometry and the science chapters with diagrams and numericals. In Class 11 and 12 it means derivations, numericals and long answers in Physics and Chemistry, calculus in Maths, and diagram-based answers in Biology.
Which CBSE curriculum should you follow?
CBSE publishes a new curriculum for each academic year on cbseacademic.nic.in. The curriculum for 2026-27 is already published, so students sitting Class 10 or Class 12 board exams in 2027 should follow it, not an older year's list of chapters. Your tutor teaches from the current curriculum for your subject and checks which chapters and topics are in it before planning your sessions.
How do the two Class 10 board exams work?
From 2026 CBSE holds two board examinations for Class 10. In 2026 the main examination ran from 17 February to 11 March and the second examination from 15 to 21 May. For regular students the better of the two performances is used for the final result, so a tutor can help you plan whether to sit the second exam to improve a subject.
How does CBSE tutoring help with JEE and NEET?
Class 11 and 12 Physics, Chemistry and Maths are also the base for JEE Main, and Physics, Chemistry and Biology for NEET. A tutor can teach a chapter for the board paper first, with NCERT questions and board-style long answers, then add harder problems on the same chapter for entrance exam practice. See our JEE page if you are preparing for JEE Main.
What happens in a CBSE tutoring session?
Before the session you send the chapter, NCERT question or sample paper you want to work on. The tutor explains the concept from first principles, solves examples with you step by step, then sets board-style questions while checking your working. You finish with a short list of NCERT and exemplar questions to practise before the next session.
Worked example: resistors in parallel (Class 12 Physics)
A 4 Ω and a 12 Ω resistor are connected in parallel across a 6 V battery. Find the current drawn. Step 1: 1/R = 1/4 + 1/12 = 3/12 + 1/12 = 4/12, so R = 3 Ω. Step 2: I = V/R = 6/3 = 2 A. Check: the 4 Ω branch carries 6/4 = 1.5 A and the 12 Ω branch 6/12 = 0.5 A, which add to 2 A. Tutors ask you to write the formula, the substitution and the unit on each line, because a correct final number without working is not a complete board answer.
Worked example: a quadratic with equal roots (Class 10 Maths)
Find k if 2x² + kx + 8 = 0 has two equal real roots. Equal roots need the discriminant to be zero: b² − 4ac = 0, so k² − 4 × 2 × 8 = 0, giving k² = 64 and k = 8 or k = −8. A common mistake is to give only k = 8. Tutors check that both values are written, because the question asks for every value of k.
CBSE classes and subjects we tutor
Each course follows the NCERT textbook and the current CBSE curriculum for that class.
| Class | Subjects | Board exam |
|---|---|---|
| Class 10 | Mathematics, Science | Yes, with an optional second exam from 2026 |
| Class 11 | Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology | No, school exams |
| Class 12 | Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology | Yes |
Example plan: Class 12 Physics before the board exam
An example eight-week plan. Your tutor builds yours from your school test and pre-board results.
| Weeks | Focus | Practice |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 2 | Electrostatics: charges and fields, potential and capacitance | NCERT exercises and derivations |
| 3 to 4 | Current electricity, moving charges and magnetism | Numericals, timed |
| 5 to 6 | Electromagnetic induction, alternating current, ray and wave optics | Previous years' questions |
| 7 to 8 | Modern physics and semiconductors, then a full sample paper | A timed paper, checked step by step |

Frequently asked questions
How does online CBSE tutoring work?
You book a live one-to-one video session with a subject teacher. Sessions are 60 minutes on Zoom or Google Meet. Beforehand you share your class, the NCERT chapter and any questions or test results, so the tutor can plan the session around the current CBSE curriculum for your subject.
Which CBSE classes and subjects do you cover?
We cover Class 10 Mathematics and Science, and Class 11 and 12 Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. Each subject has a structured course that follows the NCERT textbook chapter by chapter, and you can also book single sessions for one chapter or one set of questions.
Do your CBSE tutors follow the NCERT textbooks?
Yes. Tutors teach from the NCERT textbook for your class and use NCERT exercises and exemplar questions, because board questions are set on the CBSE curriculum, which follows NCERT for these subjects. They then move on to sample papers and previous years' questions for exam practice.
Which CBSE syllabus year should I study?
Study the curriculum CBSE has published for your exam session. For board exams in 2027 that is the 2026-27 curriculum on cbseacademic.nic.in. Chapters and topics can change between years, so your tutor checks the current document before planning your sessions.
What are the two CBSE Class 10 board exams?
From 2026 CBSE holds a main Class 10 board examination in February and March and a second examination in May. For regular students the better of the two performances counts for the final result. Your school confirms the dates and whether you are entered for the second exam.
Can a tutor help me improve my marks in the second Class 10 exam?
Yes. After the main exam, a tutor reviews the subject you want to improve, finds the chapters and question types where you lost marks, and works through them with timed board-style questions before the second exam in May. Ask your school about the entry rules first.
Can CBSE tutoring help with JEE Main or NEET?
Yes. Class 11 and 12 Physics, Chemistry and Maths are the base for JEE Main, and Physics, Chemistry and Biology for NEET. Tutors can teach each chapter for the board exam first and then add harder entrance-style problems on the same chapter, so you prepare for both together.
Do you teach students at CBSE schools outside India?
Yes. Students at CBSE schools in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain can join, as well as students in India. Sessions are online, and lesson times can be booked in IST or Gulf time, including evenings and weekends, so they fit around your school day.
How much does an online CBSE tutor cost?
The price depends on the class, subject and how many sessions you book. You see the price for your request before you pay, and there is no charge until you accept it. Booking a block of sessions before pre-boards or the board exam lets you plan the full cost in advance.
Will my tutor use sample papers and previous years' questions?
Yes. Tutors use CBSE sample question papers and previous years' board questions once a chapter is covered. They show you how to set out long answers and numericals step by step, how to label diagrams and how to manage time across the paper.
Can I get help with practical files and projects?
Yes. A tutor can explain the experiments and activities in your practical syllabus, how to record observations and calculations, and how to answer viva questions. The practical file and project should be your own work, so the tutor guides you rather than writing it for you.
When should I start CBSE tutoring?
Many students start at the beginning of Class 10 or Class 11 to keep up chapter by chapter, and others book a block of sessions a few months before pre-boards. A single session also works well for one chapter you are stuck on, such as electrostatics or integration.
Can parents book CBSE tutoring for their child?
Yes. A parent or guardian can make the booking and share the class, subject and chapters. Sessions are online, so your child joins from home, and you can agree with the tutor how progress will be shared after each session or block of sessions.
Is Class 11 harder than Class 10 in CBSE?
Most students find the step up large, especially in Physics and Maths, because Class 11 adds calculus, vectors and longer derivations. Starting Class 11 with a tutor for the first few chapters, such as units and measurement, motion and functions, helps you build the methods the rest of the year depends on.
Can I take a CBSE course instead of live sessions?
Yes. There are structured CBSE courses for each class and subject on this page. Many students combine a course for the full syllabus with live sessions for the chapters they find hardest, so they cover everything and still get one-to-one help where they need it.
