About this service

More about homework help

Homework help on FLN Tutors gets you a worked, step-by-step solution to the questions you are stuck on, from an expert who teaches the subject. The goal is that you understand the method, not just the answer.

Send a photo or file of the worksheet, problem set or question, plus your level and deadline. An expert sends back each step with the reasoning behind it: the formula used and why, the substitutions, and how to check the answer. If something is still unclear, you can ask follow-up questions on the same task.

The most common requests are maths (algebra, trigonometry, calculus, probability), statistics, physics, chemistry, biology, accounting and finance, economics, and programming in Python, Java and C++. They come from students at GCSE, A-Level, IB, high school, AP and university.

Online homework help is fastest for short tasks. Many questions are answered the same day. For longer topics, a live tutoring session is often the better choice. Working through a few questions together with a tutor builds the skill for the whole unit.

Use the solutions to learn the method, then practise on similar questions. Our academic integrity policy explains how to use worked solutions responsibly.

Every session is homework help online, so you can upload a question at any time and get step-by-step working you can follow.

What is online homework help?

In short: FLN Tutors gives online homework help from verified human experts, not AI. Tutors work through the maths, statistics, science, accounting, economics or programming questions you are stuck on, show every step in your course's method, and answer follow-up questions, from KS3, GCSE and AP to college and university level.

Online homework help is support from a subject expert who works through the questions you're stuck on and explains every step, so you understand the method and can solve similar problems yourself. At FLN Tutors, every solution comes from a verified human expert, not an AI tool, and you can ask follow-up questions on the same task.

  • Step-by-step worked solutions with the reasoning shown
  • Maths, sciences, accounting, economics and programming
  • From KS3 and GCSE to university courses

Why choose a human homework helper over an AI homework helper?

AI homework helpers answer instantly, but they regularly make mistakes on multi-step problems, skip the working your teacher expects and can't adapt to your course's method. A human expert checks every step, uses your notation and explains the parts you find confusing.

Maths homework help from KS3 and GCSE to university

Maths homework is the most common request, and the help changes with your level. Experts follow the methods your exam board or course uses, so the working matches what earns marks.

LevelTypical topics
KS3 (Years 7–9)Fractions, algebra basics, angles, ratio
GCSE and IGCSEQuadratics, simultaneous equations, trigonometry, probability
A-Level and IBDifferentiation, integration, vectors, statistics, mechanics
UniversityCalculus, linear algebra, differential equations, statistics

What does a worked homework solution look like?

A good worked solution states the method, shows every step in order and checks the answer. Here are two short examples set out the way FLN tutors explain them.

Example 1: solve x² − 5x + 6 = 0 by factorising.

StepWorking
Find two numbers that multiply to 6 and add to −5−2 and −3
Factorise(x − 2)(x − 3) = 0
Solvex = 2 or x = 3
Check x = 24 − 10 + 6 = 0 ✓
Check x = 39 − 15 + 6 = 0 ✓

Example 2: find the mean and standard deviation of 2, 4, 4, 4, 5, 5, 7, 9.

StepWorking
Mean(2 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 5 + 5 + 7 + 9) ÷ 8 = 40 ÷ 8 = 5
Deviations from the mean−3, −1, −1, −1, 0, 0, 2, 4
Sum of squared deviations9 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 0 + 0 + 4 + 16 = 32
Sample variance32 ÷ (8 − 1) = 32 ÷ 7 = 4.571
Sample standard deviation√4.571 = 2.138
Population standard deviation√(32 ÷ 8) = √4 = 2

Use the sample formula (dividing by n − 1) when your data is a sample, and the population formula (dividing by n) when it is the whole population.

How is every homework solution set out?

Every solution follows the same clear structure so you can follow and reuse the method. If any step is unclear, ask a follow-up question on the same task and the expert explains it another way.

  1. What's given and what the question asks
  2. The method or formula, and why it applies
  3. Each step of the working, in order
  4. The final answer with units
  5. A quick check that the answer makes sense

Can a tutor help with online homework platforms?

Yes, by explaining the method. Tutors help with questions from platforms such as Pearson MyLab and Mastering, WebAssign, ALEKS and McGraw Hill Connect by working through similar problems and the method step by step. They do not log in to your account or submit graded work for you.

This is how students use our math homework help and college homework help: share a screenshot of a question you are stuck on, follow the worked example, then answer the platform question yourself.

Studying outside the UK?

Homework methods are similar worldwide, but syllabuses, exam boards and notation differ by country. FLN tutors help school and college students in many countries and follow the method your teacher uses.

Where you studyLocal contextHow tutors help
United StatesAP courses, SAT math, college homeworkMath homework help and AP problem practice
AustraliaHSC and VCE, ATAR subjectsMaths and science homework
CanadaGrade 11 and 12 courses, CEGEP in QuebecPre-university maths and sciences

Need live homework help instead?

If you'd rather work through problems together in real time, book a live online tutoring session. A tutor shares a whiteboard with you, solves examples alongside you and then watches you try similar questions. For a whole topic or exam preparation, live sessions usually work better than one-off solutions.

How much does homework help cost, and how fast is it?

Homework help is priced by the number and difficulty of questions and your deadline, and you see a fixed price before you confirm. Short maths, science and accounting questions are often solved within a few hours, and full worksheets within about a day.

Stuck right now? Get a free homework quote: snap your question and see the price and delivery time before you pay.

Using homework solutions responsibly, and our guarantees

Worked solutions are a learning tool: follow each step, then try a similar question without looking. Our academic integrity policy explains how to use them well.

  • Checked answers: every solution is reviewed before delivery, and mistakes are corrected free
  • Free revisions within the original brief
  • Full refund if work isn't delivered by the agreed deadline or has major inaccuracies that can't be fixed (refund policy)
  • Private: your name and school are never shared

How do you choose a good homework help website?

A good homework help website gives you checked, step-by-step explanations from people who know the subject, shows the price before you pay and lets you ask follow-up questions. Answers alone don't help you pass the exam; explanations do.

Look forWhy it matters
Subject experts, not anonymous answersMethods match your course
Every step explainedYou can solve the next question yourself
Solutions checked before deliveryFewer errors than instant AI answers
Follow-up questions includedGaps get filled, not ignored
Clear price and refund policyNo surprises; see our refund policy

When is homework help the right choice?

Homework help works best when you're stuck on specific questions and want to understand the method quickly, for example the night before a deadline or after missing a lesson. If you're struggling with a whole topic, regular live tutoring is usually better, and for longer coursework see assignment help.

Worked example: a chemistry homework question, step by step

This fictional GCSE or A-Level chemistry question shows how every solution is set out.

Question: What mass of water forms when 4.0 g of hydrogen burns completely in oxygen?

StepWorkingWhy
1. Balanced equation2H₂ + O₂ → 2H₂OMole ratios come only from a balanced equation
2. Moles of hydrogenn = mass ÷ Mr = 4.0 ÷ 2.0 = 2.0 molMr of H₂ is 2.0
3. Mole ratioH₂ : H₂O = 2 : 2, so 2.0 mol of H₂ORead straight from the equation
4. Mass of watermass = n × Mr = 2.0 × 18.0 = 36 gMr of H₂O is 18.0
5. CheckMass of H₂ (4.0 g) + mass of O₂ used (32 g) = 36 gConservation of mass confirms the answer

Answer: 36 g of water. The check at the end is a habit tutors build into every solution, because it catches most arithmetic slips.

Where do students lose marks on homework and tests?

Mark-loserWhat to do instead
Writing only the final answerShow each step; most marks are for method
Missing or wrong unitsWrite units on every line and in the final answer
Rounding too earlyKeep full values until the last step, then round to the required figures
Using a method the course does not teachFollow your class or exam board's method
Copying a solution without trying againCover it and redo a similar question yourself
Not checking the answerSubstitute back, estimate or check units

FAQ

Homework Help: frequently asked questions

Often, yes. Short questions in maths, science and accounting are frequently solved within a few hours. Send the question and your deadline and we will confirm before you pay. Include your course level and the method your teacher uses, so the steps match what you were taught.

Yes. Every solution shows each step and explains why it is done, so you can solve similar questions yourself. Where there is more than one valid method, the expert uses the one your course teaches, so the working matches what your teacher or lecturer expects to see.

Maths, statistics, physics, chemistry, biology, accounting, finance, economics and programming (Python, Java, C++, SQL), from GCSE and high school to university. If your subject or module is not listed, send the question anyway and we will confirm whether a suitable expert is available before you pay anything.

The blog and samples pages are free to use. Personal step-by-step solutions from an expert are paid, and you see the price before you confirm. A good free routine is to attempt each question first, then compare your working with a worked example before asking for help.

Tell us, and the expert will check and correct it at no cost. Every answer is reviewed before delivery. Point to the step you think is wrong, and the expert will explain the correction so you can see where the method changed.

Homework help suits a few specific questions. A live session is better when you want to understand a whole topic or prepare for an exam. Many students use both: written solutions for a few tricky questions, and a live session before a test to fill gaps and practise under time pressure.
